相模湾を舞台に頼朝の軌跡をたどる「相模湾 歴史航路クルーズ」第一章を開催いたしました 当日は天候にも恵まれ、実際の海の航路をたどりながら歴史に思いを馳せる、印象深い航海となりました。 葉山を出発し見慣れた風景に残る歴史 葉山を出発し、まずは小坪沖へ。普段見慣れている小坪の風景ですが、この地でもかつて「小坪合戦」と呼ばれる戦いが起こったと伝えられています。 では、この合戦はなぜ起こったのか。その理由は、この後たどる航路の中にあります。 歴史は、場所と場所がつながることで見えてくる。そのことを実感しながら、航海は静かに始まりました。 援軍を阻んだ川 当日は風が弱く、機走で西へ進みます。 普段、熱海へ向かう際には沖合をまっすぐ進みますが、今回は歴史の舞台を確かめるように、陸地に沿って航行しました。 やがて酒匂川の河口に到着します。 鎌倉から伊豆・石橋山へ向かった頼朝の援軍は、この川の氾濫によって渡ることができず、引き返すことになったと伝えられています。その引き返した軍勢が、小坪付近で平家方の軍と遭遇し、合戦へと発展しました。 先ほどの小坪の出来事と、この酒匂川の氾濫が、一本の線でつながる瞬間です。 航路をたどることで、歴史の出来事が現実の地形として立ち上がってくる。まさに今回の航海の目的を象徴する場面でした。 小田原城を望みながら真鶴半島へ さらに西へ進むと、小田原城の姿が見えてきます。 この地域一帯は、石橋山の戦いの舞台でもあります。当時、この周辺では頼朝が激戦を繰り広げていました。 しかし援軍は到着せず、頼朝軍は敗北。頼朝は山中を逃れ、やがて海へと向かうことになります。 私たちはその流れをたどるように、南へ進路を取り、真鶴半島を目指しました。 風も上がってきて、セーリングも楽しみながら伊豆半島を南下していきます。 岩海岸 頼朝が海へ出た場所真鶴半島の岩海岸沖に到着。この場所から頼朝が小さな船で海へ出たと伝えられています。 山から海へ。敗走の末の決断。 静かな海面を前に、その時の緊張や覚悟に思いを馳せる時間となりました。頼朝ゆかりの地を実際の航路の中で確認し、私たちはそのまま熱海へ向かいます。 熱海につき、宿へ移動。 地ビールも楽しみ、遊びと学びと美食と、贅沢な時間が過ぎていきます。 伊豆山神社参拝頼朝と政子の物語の地 翌朝は伊豆山神社を参拝しました。 伊豆山神社は、源頼朝ゆかりの三祈願所の一つとして知られ、北条政子との物語が伝わる場所でもあります。 境内には、頼朝と政子が腰かけていたと伝えられる岩も残されており、参加者の皆さまも、それぞれに当時の情景を思い描かれている様子でした。 帰路 良い風に恵まれた航海翌日は葉山へ向けて帰航。 帰路では風も上がり、セーリングを楽しみながら相模湾を東へ進みました。そして葉山港が近づく頃、最後に見えてくるのが旗立山です。 この山は、三浦勢が小坪合戦の際に指揮をとった場所と伝えられています。出発時にはただの風景だった山が、航海を終えた今では、意味を持った場所として見えてくる。 今回の航海の締めくくりにふさわしい瞬間でした。 航路をたどることで見えてくる歴史...
