The design and ride are timeless and comfortable for everyone from first-time sea kayakers to veterans.
The use of epoxy resin gives these kayaks strength and durability, allowing them to be used for 10, 20 years or even longer. They offer both stability and maneuverability, allowing for safe touring even on windy days, and are also ideal for fishing.
It is designed to suit the short wavelength waves found in the waters off Japan, and has high maneuverability even in strong winds and rough waves.
It has good initial stability, a bottom shape that combines stability and speed even in strong winds, and a rocker shape that maintains maneuverability. When used in combination with a skeg with a lid that prevents sand from clogging, you can adjust its straight-line stability, making it suitable for long-distance touring.
A three-section boat is easy to set out on the water, even for beginners, as all you need to do is tighten the screws.
It's stable, fast, and easy to maneuver, so you can use it safely for fishing. The strength of an FRP rigid kayak is its ability to move easily to the fishing spot. The speed of paddling is unmatched by conventional sit-on-top kayaks. Fishing options such as rod holders and an add-on fishing console (coming soon) are also available.
The front and rear hatches are made of durable FRP, and the wide openings make it easy to load and unload luggage, and the storage capacity is ample.
Considering safety and durability in bad weather, the standard model has not been made lighter than necessary. However, all models are made with highly durable, high-strength resin, taking advantage of the properties of FRP to create a light weight that is easy to carry. Of course, the lightweight version makes extensive use of high-strength fibers such as Kevlar and carbon, making it lighter without sacrificing strength.
What is Epoxy Kevlar Carbon Material?
The FRP commonly used in kayaks stands for "fiber reinforced plastic."
By combining various fibers and resins, it is possible to create products with unique characteristics tailored to the purpose.
Among these, epoxy resins are resins that have particularly high mechanical strength and seawater corrosion resistance, replacing conventional polyester resins.
Polyester often loses strength due to erosion caused by aging (osmosis), but epoxy resins do not have to worry about erosion at all.
It also has significantly higher strength, significantly reducing problems such as peeling and cracking.
Its characteristics can be further enhanced by combining it with high-strength materials such as Kevlar and carbon.
In recent years, materials that have been attracting attention in aircraft, hybrid cars, and sporting events have only been possible thanks to this combination.
Compared to polyester, epoxy resins are more expensive and require advanced processing techniques, but I believe they are an essential material for ships that will be entrusted with their long-term lives at sea.
