RS Games Winter @ Shimizu was also held!

Last weekend was a three-day weekend for Coming of Age Day.

The RS Games Winter Championship was held at the same time as the Miho Mid-Winter Championship, which is held annually in Miho, Shimizu, Shizuoka Prefecture. Three RSaero boats from HSC participated, and one RSaero and one RS500 boat from Shimizu.

As the event was held at the same time as the Shimizu Port Yacht Association's Midwinter, there was a wide variety of participating boats, including RS as well as Aqua Muse, Sea Hopper, and Taser.

With a lot of wind fluctuations and a short course ranging from light to fair winds, four races were held on the first day and two on the second day.

It was very difficult for yachts with different speeds to start at the same time, and the aero5s struggled as they lost wind after the start. RSaero7's Nakao managed to catch the wind and won the RS Winter Championship.

The party on Saturday was a buffet at a restaurant! It was a friendly atmosphere with many speeches and a great opportunity to socialize. The RS race in Shimizu is scheduled to be held in October this year.

Miho has safe waters and beautiful scenery even for beginners, so we hope many people will be able to participate!

At Morito on Saturday, the wind was weak in the morning, allowing many people to relax and enjoy themselves, but in the afternoon a southerly wind came in and people were practicing on three Aero boats!

On Sunday, it was a cloudy day with the possibility of rain, but RSaero's Request School was held. The theme was the importance of sail trim.

Balance and sailing trim can make a big difference in speed, so be sure to operate carefully, especially in light winds!

When you join a group school, the goal is to be able to ride independently with the support of an instructor.

When the L flag is raised, let's gather nearby ♪

The L flag means "come within earshot." Be sure to get close quickly as the instructor will give you advice and instructions.

There were also parents and children attending the school together.

Even though it was cold, they practiced hard in the morning and afternoon!

Some people enjoyed sailing with their friends, and it was a weekend that made me realize once again that you can sail a yacht even in winter as long as there is wind.
