This weekend on Sunday, the final club race of the year was the annual championship deciding match!
The 16 boats that advanced to the final race competed for the annual championship!
At the meeting, the race committee chairman introduced the participating athletes.
Sarah is a favorite to win.
Surrounding Ken, the favorite to win!
To all the members who helped run the event!
There were concerns about no wind, but four races were held in rare light winds from the west and northwest!
Depending on where you are, there may or may not be wind.
As always, after the race there will be a party and the results will be announced.
The winds were changing so drastically that participants gave speeches about how their rankings were determined by how well they behaved!
The top three remain.
Who will win the annual club race championship in December 2024?
Junpei was a good boy who always behaved well.
He looks happy to receive the championship cup!
"Thank you to everyone involved in the event! It seems like you've been a good person," said Junpei in his speech.
Congratulations!
So on Saturday, the waves were still high due to the southerly wind that had been blowing the day before.
Since we couldn't leave our usual spot, we got ready and set out from a place with as few waves as possible!
The wind that had died down in the afternoon had picked up again.
The Basic 1 and 2 students also reefed and practiced hard in the strong winds!
There is only one month left this year. Sailing on a clear winter day feels great!
