As September began, the swimming beach closed and Morito Beach returned to its usual spacious state.
The day before, there had been heavy rain due to the typhoon, but the next morning, the sky was blue as if by magic, and the wind had died down.
It was a bit lacking for racing.

However, by the time the first race started, a steady southerly wind had come in, and the race started with a light breeze.

This time, many double-handed boats such as RS200, RSVision and RSFeva also participated!
There were also gennaker boats, so the course was a short two-lap course around the triangle.

The wind gradually picked up, and by the time the fourth race started there was a nice breeze of 4.5 meters!

The winner of the September club race was high school student S!
He had previously said that he wasn't good at light winds, but he managed to stay focused throughout all four races!

Then on Sunday there was a race practice session in preparation for next month's RS All Japan Championships in Shimizu.

In response to a question from a member, there was also an explanation about the key points of jibing with a laser.
Lasers with the traveler at the stern tend to catch the mainsheet when jibing.
The first thing to do is to remove any excess slack (pull the sheet from broad reach to the abeam angle), and then unheel the boat or pull the mainsheet when the boom returns, which will prevent the sheet from accidentally touching down on the water surface.

We practiced boat handling with the Aero and Laser, and at the end we even had a mini race!

The best sailing season is still going on!
