The last weekend of March

This weekend marks the end of March.

Students on spring break were out on the beach even on weekdays.

Just yesterday it was as warm as Golden Week, but now we're back to the cold of winter.

Even so, some members continued practicing despite the cold!

Y-kun, who will be a high school student from April, is taking the Basic Level 3 assessment today!

First, practice launching the boat.

As we went a little further out to sea, we encountered MOMO, who was on the Competent Crew.

I miss the sunshine.

Everyone please be careful!

There was a heavy gusty north wind that occasionally created whitecaps, but everyone at the school practiced hard, even though they sank a few times!

On Sunday, everyone was waiting for the weather to improve, and it was a lively day from the morning onwards.

The new CAT12 is also out at sea!

This is a junior youth school.

We practiced on land before setting sail.

Learn to pull the mainsheet with both hands while holding the tiller!

Let's go out to sea!

I thought I'd try out what I'd learned on land in the ocean, but the wind died down towards lunchtime.

I was at the mercy of the wind that just wouldn't come in.

There's no wind

This week we had some new kids join our junior practice session!

The little ones all got along well together on the catamaran.

Finally, it's a race to the beach!

The aero also seemed a little lacking.

Students who continued to participate in the school from last week,

Let's also learn about rigging and ropework!

A nice southerly wind picked up in the afternoon.

This time, we will be heading off the coast of Zaimokuza for the flotilla (navigating together as a group) training course.

First, check for dangerous areas in shallow water and confirm the direction of the target with a compass.

The red and green mark off the coast of Zaimokuza, beyond Zushi Marina, is our landmark and destination for today!

Once you've reached your goal, take a break with some milk tea and a snack.

Let's go ashore and enjoy lunch at the actual Flotilla next month!

Next week is the RS Games Spring Championship!

We look forward to your participation!
