Last weekend, the strong winds died down on Friday, making for a lovely day for sailing!
There weren't as many waves as I thought there would be, and the sunshine was warm ♪ Mount Fuji was beautiful!

A-kun, who always works hard with lasers in the youth team,
I'm also going to try out aero for the July race!
First, let's start with the rigging - the boat is light so you can get it ready by yourself.

Just as we were about to head out, the wind blew up and in an instant the sea was covered in white waves.
Other members, please note that the waves are high when you launch your boat, so please start from the Morito Shrine side.

There were also Basic 1 and 2 schools.
The Zest is easy to reef, so it's helpful. Let's get used to it by getting a grasp on sail trim and balance in strong winds.

We also rode the aero with junior high and high school students!

The conditions were difficult with the waves.
If the sails of the Aero are not properly tuned, it will not be able to move when the wind blows.

Everyone seems to know how to drive an Aero!

When the wind died down a bit, A-kun also tried riding alone!
Although he has only ridden it a few times, he has got the hang of it and is riding it well.

The RS200 is also a full hike!

And on Sunday, we had the launching ceremony for Aero! Congratulations, M-san! All the members celebrated with us!
This year, he wants to take on various races with Aero, so I'm looking forward to it!

There was also a junior youth practice session, where we gave lessons to children who didn't know the rules of sailing.
Do you know what port tack and starboard tack are?
It may be a little difficult to remember which is which, and whether you have the right of way or have to move out of the way, but these are important rules to remember!

Now that Minami is slowly coming in, it's time to go!

It was a gentle breeze.
First, let's practice marking. Your riding position will change depending on the wind.
You can ride a little further forward to make the boat flat, or you can intentionally heel the boat as you go.

The wind is gradually picking up, so it's time to follow the boat. Sail trim is important. Make sure you follow closely behind the boat!

At the end, we raced from near Najima to the beach!! Everyone suddenly got serious!

It was incredibly cold in the morning, but the temperature gradually rose and it was a surprisingly warm and pleasant day!
I decided to ride on warmer days during the winter without overdoing it. The club will be open on the 11th (Tuesday, a national holiday). We will be closed for the winter holidays from the 13th (Wednesday) to the 20th (Friday), so thank you for your understanding.
