RS GAMES Spring 1

Last Sunday, RS GAMEs Spring 1 was held.

The forecast called for a cold front to pass through, bringing strong southwesterly winds.
We continued preparations, considering the worst case scenario of no race at all, but by the time we finished the skippers' meeting, the wind had calmed down and we were able to hold the race without any problems.

The first race is on the up and down course.
The start was surprisingly calm with a light breeze of around 3-4m/s.
In a close race on the short course, Keikai made a clean start and jumped out to finish in first place!
It also came in second in the revised rankings.

The second race will also continue on the up and down course.
The wind picked up a little, and the second race was run on a slightly longer course than the first.
Nakamizo showed outstanding speed, pulling far ahead of the other boats to finish in first place by a long way.
He also came in first in the revised rankings. In second place was Ketsukai again.

After two races, Keikai was in the overall lead with four points.
Nakamizo came in second overall with 5 points.
Takada is in third place with 6 points.

At this point, the wind changed dramatically and for a moment there was no wind.
We waited for the wind to stabilize before starting the third race.

In the third race, the wind was a little weak at around 4m/s immediately after the start of the triangular course, but the wind picked up suddenly as the leading boat rounded the bottom mark on the first lap.
Despite the survival conditions that saw many runners drop out, Nakamizo showed a steady run and finished in first place!
He tied with Yukei and broke the tie to win the match!

This marks Nakamizo's fifth consecutive win since last year!
Now, who will put an end to this winning streak?

The next RS GAMES will be on June 11th.
I'm looking forward to it!
