RS Tera
Perfect for learning the joy of sailing! A single-handed dinghy for lightweight sailors.
This entry-level model in the RS series was developed as a step-up model for small beginners and juniors. It's also a good step-up from the OP (Optimist Dinghy), offering ease of use and safety in light to strong winds. It's also a great alternative to the Laser or Seahopper, allowing children to learn a similar sailing style. Its size makes it ideal for the rider, allowing one person to rig, dismantle, launch, land, and settle the boat, all in a significant difference from larger yachts with small rigs. Its popularity has led to the holding of world championships and other international events.
Handling a yacht can be very hard work for small women and children. The RS Terra is perfect for those who want to enjoy sailing more casually and enjoyably. The lightness of the spars, which can be erected even with the boom and mast attached, makes the hassle of rigging completely forgotten. The classic OP yacht for children is extremely stable and safe, but don't kids want to enjoy a sense of speed as long as there's a fair wind? This small yacht is easy to hike out of, easy to right if it sinks, and can be set sail immediately without the need for drainage, making it a satisfying experience.

Can a child who is 120cm tall, weighs 20kg, and has only been sailing for two months ride on it?

The ladder is a swing-type and can be lowered smoothly. The centerboard can also be put in by one person after boarding.

It is stable and easy to ride in winds of about 5m.

The deck is gently curved, making it easy to hike out.

They are also fast, so they can run alongside adults without getting too far behind.

Here's a comparison with the laser standard:
Features of RS Tera
It is stable and has a small sail area, making it easy to sail. It is light, so even those with small bodies or little physical strength can easily launch and land the boat. It is suitable for adults and juniors up to 60 kg.

Easy to rig
With the boom attached to the mast, even an adult woman can easily set it up. Assembly takes about 5 minutes.
safety
It comes with a retraction rope to make it easy to retract, and the thin boom with padding helps to cushion the impact of the boom punch.
Easy to maintain
Made from polyethylene, it is easy to maintain.
Enjoy sailing
It responds well in light winds and planes well in strong winds.
Car top OK
It weighs just 39kg, so it can be easily placed on top of a car. If you have a wagon, it can also be placed inside the car.
We have created a video that provides a simple explanation of the RS Terra's rigging. Take a look at the sturdy and stable hull, the mast that can furl the sails, and the rigging that has been designed to be easy to use down to the smallest detail.

Overall deck layout:
It has all the simple functions a petite sailor needs.

Bow Handle:
It can be used for transporting and towing boats.

Mast drop stopper:
When you insert the mast and rotate it 180 degrees, a stopper automatically activates to prevent the mast from coming out when the boat sinks.

Boom Punch Cushion:
The boom has a cushion attached to it. It has a cushion to reduce the impact on your head even when doing wild jibes. It also doubles as a loop to prevent the mainsheet from sagging, making it a revolutionary item for beginners.

Sinking rope:
The Terra is easy to raise from a semi-sunken position just by holding on to the centerboard, and it also comes with a pull-up rope. The boom joint is a one-touch joint at the gooseneck, making assembly easy (it uses the same parts as the Optimist, a children's yacht).

Rudder & Tiller:
The rudder head and tiller are one unit, so there is no rattle in the joint. The center of the rudder swing is a bolt-nut system, but it has a large thumbscrew, so it can be loosened without special tools. Raising and lowering the rudder when leaving or arriving at the boat has become easy.

Tiller Extension:
This is an extension tiller with a grip. The tiller joint is a freely rotatable rubber joint.

Outhaul System:
The one-touch belt (black) can be used without the outhaul rope (yellow). Of course, it can be adjusted.

Centerboard:
This is a compact centerboard. Although it is compact, it has been designed with sufficient consideration for the stability of the boat and ease of righting when submerged. There is little rattle when sailing. The centerboard has been changed to aluminum from the 2013 model.
Test drive report
●Female 43kg Wind range 5m/sIt looks really cool and cute, but it's also incredibly easy to ride. I would especially recommend it to small men who are thinking of starting dinghy sailing for the first time, and of course, to women. You can also practice sailing with your children, and once they've gotten good at it, they can sail on their own.
●Male 69.7kg Wind range 7m/s
The wind was strong on the day of the test ride and I was close to the upper limit of my ideal weight, so I felt like the bow would sink a little if I rode too far forward. Other than that, it ran smoothly and briskly, and tacks and jibes were perfect. Although it is a boat for children, it has solid fundamentals and has many similarities to other boats. When I was on the OP, the next boats I rode, like the Laser and Seahopper, felt very large, so I think this would be just right as a follow-up to the OP.
