Representative Introduction

Hayama Sailing College Hayama Sea Kayak Club

Representative: Kazuyoshi Nakao

●Greetings from the President

I started the yacht school when I had taken a break from my competitive career and was working a regular job, and I was asked by a yacht shop to teach sailing to two female university students. As I continued teaching, more and more students came, and they were all happy and wanted to continue sailing. Since many of the students were young and it was difficult for them to buy their own yachts, they started owning yachts as a club activity, and the sailing college was born naturally.

As the number of members increased and the club's base was established in Hayama, it gradually took on the appearance of a yacht club, and has continued to do so to this day.

I have been able to teach a wide range of people, from elementary school students to people in their 80s, from beginners to those who attended the National Sports Festival last week, about the joys of sailing and how to improve their skills.I have been able to meet many people, and thanks to all of you, I believe I have learned a lot over the past 20 years.

I would like to continue to respect the different age groups and ways of enjoying sailing, and to teach the important basics of the ocean and yachting, as well as safety and etiquette. I would like to create an environment where junior generations, families, and friends can enjoy sailing, so that more people in Japan can enjoy sailing.

About Morito Beach

Morito Beach

Hayama in Kanagawa Prefecture, surrounded by the sea and mountains, has long been known as a resort area, typified by the Imperial Villa, and still retains its quiet and peaceful townscape. Hayama is also the birthplace of yachting, and many yachts depart from the port on weekends.

Directly in front of Morito Beach you can see Enoshima and Mount Fuji. Nearby is the island of Najima, and the surrounding water is so clear you can even see small cobalt blue fish. This is a natural place where you can reset your daily routine.

Our clubhouse is located just in front of the slope leading to Morito Beach. It is a compact facility equipped with everything you need for sailing activities.

We aim to run a school where both beginners and experienced sailors can learn safely and enjoyably, and a club where they can continue sailing.

Our staff hope to convey the joy and depth of sailing to as many people as possible and to support you in making your holidays a rich one.

Whether you have never sailed a yacht before or already have a wide range of experience, please feel free to visit the clubhouse.
