Hayama Sailing Club Junior
Hayama Sailing Club Junior operates at Morito Beach in Hayama. Children who are sailing a yacht for the first time are also welcome. We have a wide range of activities, from beginner schools to full-scale yacht racing. We value a family-like atmosphere where anyone can easily participate.
The most important thing is that yachting is fun and interesting.
Little by little they learn to be self-sufficient and independent.
Let's cooperate, be considerate of our colleagues, help each other when we're in trouble, and speak to each other.
Characteristics of HSC schools
Like Hayama Sailing College, we use the World Sailing curriculum as a reference, and teach students so that they naturally acquire the important fundamentals of sailing. Starting with enjoying sailing with an instructor, we will gradually convey the excitement of yacht racing. We hope that before you know it, you will have grown into a well-mannered sailor who loves sailing and has acquired the knowledge and solid skills to sail. One of our features is that we sail a variety of boat types. In addition to single-person junior yachts, you will learn to work together in two-person boats and sail a variety of yachts as you grow, broadening your horizons in the world of yachting.

Voices of Hayama Sailing Club members
◆Here are some comments from Hayama Sailing Club members
Mr. and Mrs. I
I was providing rescue support for a junior yacht club for children and it made me want to try sailing myself! I started sailing at the age of 55 and now I sail two or three times a week. I'm glad I discovered sailing as it will help shape my future lifestyle. I've also made many new sailing friends!
Mr. O
I grew up by the sea, but moved to Tokyo for work and have been away from the ocean ever since. Determined to find a sea sport I could enjoy for the long term, I decided to take part in a trial sailing class in Hayama, my first visit. The beauty of Hayama's ocean and the instructors' ability to get even beginners into the groove made me want to get out on the water again straight away, so I took a start sailing class and then became a club member. In addition to sailing, the friendly club atmosphere created by the instructors, staff, and club members has become a weekend treat for me.

"Learning to sail makes life three times more fun!" I started sailing at an age considered senior, and HSC has proven that this saying is true. The instructors were unique, kind, and fun, the school system was systematic and easy to understand, there were a wide variety of boats to enjoy, from family yachts to high-performance boats with a sense of speed, to slightly elegant cruisers, and the friendly and never-ending laughter of the members... I was instantly captivated by Hayama. I was experiencing symptoms of low tide on the weekends!? Life is now five times more fun.
Mr. A
When I rode on a cruiser a long time ago, I was excited to see the yacht sailing along in a world where only the sounds of the wind and waves were heard. Now that I've finished raising my children, I can't forget that exhilarating feeling, so I decided to take the plunge and apply to join a cruiser team. Just when I started to think that I wanted to be a real sailor instead of just a passenger, I was strongly encouraged to practice on a dinghy, and so I enrolled at Sailing College. The homey atmosphere and solid curriculum make it easy to understand, and although it's a slow pace, I'm enjoying it with peace of mind.
Mr. K
After joining the university yacht club, I used to sail on a cruiser with friends, but we decided to sell it and were wondering what to do. Then, as I turned 50, I decided to try dinghy sailing while I was still able to move around, so I visited HSC at Morito Beach, which I was familiar with from my student days. HSC is a great place to enjoy a variety of activities, from single-handed to trapezius and sea kayaks. Now, I participate in club races on my RSaero and RS500, and also enjoy sea kayak tours.
Mr. T
I experienced sailing in the waters of Amami and was captivated by the beauty of sailing. While sailing on a cruiser in Yokohama, I decided to learn the basics of sailing by joining this club, which offers a comprehensive curriculum. The instructors provide thorough instruction, and the club members, ranging from beginners to experienced sailors, are generally warm and welcoming. A variety of boats are available, and you can invite friends on board. The club has a beautiful clubhouse and hosts a variety of events and club races. I obtained my ISPA certification at the cruiser school and learned to sail a sea kayak. I also participated in the RS Aero World dinghy competition in Australia with club members. I now live nearby and enjoy marine life every day. Watching the sunset over Morito, I think of this club as one that opens up new horizons for the ocean beyond what I've learned.
Mr. K/Ms. A
Tsubouchi : I never thought it would be possible for a woman to sail alone, but when I came to HSC through an acquaintance's introduction and saw some women sailing coolly even though they were beginners, I thought I'd like to try it myself! I've raced in a two-seater with other members I met who joined at the same time, and I've also been enjoying sailing alone on a Laser or RSaero!
Iguchi-san : I only recently discovered the sport of yachting, but I love the ocean, so I started it as a way to try something new. I found out about this club through an acquaintance, and now I enjoy my weekends in Hayama's beautiful ocean with the other members. It's like an adult club activity! (laughs) I've now even tried double-handed sailing, and I'm constantly discovering new things and getting excited about the depth of yachting.
