Target audience: Experienced people

This course is limited to within 10 miles of the coast, during good daytime weather, and aims to equip you with sufficient knowledge and skills to become a skipper who can be responsible for the safety of the crew and the boat. Once you have obtained your Competent Crew qualification, you can make an opportunity to actually board a yacht, go on a cruise with friends who have sufficient knowledge and experience of yachting, and gain experience as a crew member.

HSC Club also offers cruising opportunities. Once you have gained some experience, you can take the Day Skipper course. This course is available to those who have completed the Competent Crew course.
