Optimum Time OS1231R (rechargeable, USB powered)
¥15,400
Introducing a full-fledged sailing watch from OPTIMUM TIME. It retains the functionality of a traditional sailing timer but now features a more stylish design. This model is a budget version of the higher-end OS16318 model, with identical functionality and an ABS resin body. This model is recommended for those who want to use it vigorously.
While the clock function of previous Optimum Time watches was merely an added bonus, this model displays the calendar, time (hours, minutes, seconds), and day of the week in three digits, just like a regular watch. When used as a countdown timer, the same operation as previous models allows you to set countdowns of 5, 4, 1, or 0, or 5 minutes, 3 minutes, or 1 minute, or any timer from 1 minute to 59 minutes.
It is also possible to count up from zero. There are two countdown modes to choose from: countdown repeat, which repeats the countdown, and a mode that starts counting up as soon as the countdown finishes.
This time, the specifications have been changed and it has been reborn as the R (rechargeable) model. The biggest advantage is that there is no need to open the back cover with a screwdriver to change the battery, so you don't have to search for a new battery when it runs out during an expedition.
In fact, there were many problems when changing the battery, such as static electricity causing damage, or disassembling the watch and not tightening the screws properly, allowing water to seep in and cause damage.
By using a USB clamp, it is now possible to charge directly from an AC power source using a PC's USB port or a mobile phone charger. Charging takes about two hours, and a single charge will allow for over 700 start sequences, meaning that charging will not be necessary for several months.
*Please note that if you forget the USB clamp when traveling, you will not be able to charge the device.
